I Want to Volunteer

Volunteering Richmond are no longer funded to run the volunteer brokerage service in Richmond Upon Thames. The council funded service is now provided by the Richmond CVS.

The new Volunteering Service in Richmond is up and running!

This is a key part of our Community Connections Richmond partnership to deliver services to voluntary sector organisations and residents within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

As part of their service, they are using a new database called Volunteer Connect which has been specially developed for the voluntary sector.  Volunteer Connect allows volunteers to search and register for roles, and organisations to advertise and update roles and find potential volunteers. This can be done entirely online and can be a great way for volunteers to explore opportunities, especially if they know what kind of role they are interested in.

They will also have drop-in points across the borough where volunteers can meet with an adviser and talk about the sort of roles they might be interested in.

To get started just follow the link here to the Community Connections Richmond website. All organisations will need to register with Volunteer Connect.

Once registered and approved, you’ll be able to:

  • Log-in and update your details
  • Advertise and manage your roles
  • Track volunteers who have registered an interest in your roles
  • View volunteer profiles before inviting them to apply
  • Search our Volunteer bank to find suitable volunteers

Please note
If you have previously registered online with Richmond CVS for a training course, you will not be able to use the same email address on Volunteer Connect. Therefore please use a new email address to register. If you have any problems registering, please call the Volunteer Connect support team at Community Connections Richmond on 020 8843 7940 or email volunteer@communityconnectionsrichmond.org.uk

Adding and checking your roles
If you provided details of roles to Volunteering Richmond they will have been migrated, so please check and update these. In particular, please check that your details and the advertising dates are correct and then click ‘save’ if you make any amendments.

We understand that adding roles can be time-consuming so here are a few quick tips to get you started. Please include:

  • Address and email contact
  • Short description – you could add a link here to further details if they are on your website
  • Tick interests
  • Tick skills and activities needed
  • Information about the application process
  • Information about volunteer support

You can go back into the role later and add more details. Remember, a role that is completed well will attract more suitable volunteers.

Throughout the process you’ll receive a series of email alerts, for example when someone expresses an interest in one of your roles.  These alerts sometimes go into Junk mail, so please look out for them.
